Building Inclusive Volunteering Opportunities: YEAH at the SALTO Partnership Building Activity

YEAH Participates in SALTO Partnership Building Activity on Inclusive Volunteering in Prague 

YEAH was pleased to take part in the Partnership Building Activity “Volunteering Teams as a Tool to Support Inclusion”, held from 20–24 October 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic. 

The event, organised by the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS) in cooperation with the European Solidarity Corps Resource Centre and SALTO Inclusion & Diversity, brought together youth workers, project managers, social workers, and representatives of volunteering organisations from across Europe and neighbouring regions. 

The activity focused on exploring the potential of European Solidarity Corps Volunteering Teams as a powerful tool for inclusion, particularly for engaging young people with fewer opportunities. Through non-formal learning methods, practical examples, and interactive discussions, participants exchanged experiences, explored successful volunteering initiatives, and developed new ideas for future cooperation. 

Representing both YEAH and Youth Power, Armin Cerkez joined colleagues from diverse organisations to discuss how volunteering can create meaningful opportunities for young people while strengthening solidarity, active citizenship, and social inclusion. The programme provided valuable space for networking, partnership development, and the creation of new international collaborations that can lead to future Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps projects. 

One of the key takeaways from the activity was the importance of designing volunteering opportunities that are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of young people from diverse backgrounds. The discussions highlighted the role that international volunteering can play in building confidence, developing competences, and fostering a sense of belonging among participants. 

YEAH would like to thank the Czech National Agency, the European Solidarity Corps Resource Centre, and SALTO Inclusion & Diversity for organising this valuable event and creating a space where organisations could learn from one another, build partnerships, and strengthen their commitment to inclusion. 

The activity also coincided with the celebration of SALTO’s 20th anniversary, marking two decades of supporting quality youth work, learning mobility, inclusion, and international cooperation across Europe.
