YEAH Recognised as a European Good Practice in SALTO European Solidarity Corps Publication

YEAH Recognised as a European Good Practice in SALTO European Solidarity Corps Publication

YEAH is proud to announce that it has been featured as one of six European examples of good practice in the publication “European Solidarity Corps Volunteering Teams – Community-Based Practice in Europe”, published by SALTO European Solidarity Corps.

The publication showcases inspiring volunteering initiatives from across Europe and highlights organisations that successfully use European Solidarity Corps Volunteering Teams to strengthen communities, promote inclusion, and create meaningful learning opportunities for young people. YEAH was selected alongside organisations from Finland, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, and Albania as a recognised example of community-based volunteering practice.

The article presents YEAH’s journey from grassroots volunteering to becoming an organisation committed to empowering young people through inclusion, non-formal education, international cooperation, and active citizenship. It highlights the leadership of YEAH’s founder and Managing Director, Armin Cerkez, whose more than two decades of experience in volunteering and youth work have shaped the organisation’s approach to community engagement and youth empowerment.

The publication recognises YEAH’s belief that volunteering should go beyond participation and become a process of co-creation, where young people actively contribute to shaping activities, projects, and communities. Through European Solidarity Corps initiatives, YEAH supports volunteers in developing practical skills, building confidence, strengthening intercultural understanding, and creating lasting connections across borders.

Particular attention is given to YEAH’s commitment to inclusion and accessibility. Many of the organisation’s local and international initiatives focus on supporting young people facing social, cultural, or economic barriers, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and develop their potential. The publication highlights how volunteering can create safe spaces for learning, foster empathy, and strengthen communities by bringing together people from diverse backgrounds.

The featured article also emphasises YEAH’s approach to meaningful youth participation, where volunteers are involved from the earliest stages of project planning and implementation. By encouraging ownership, creativity, and responsibility, YEAH ensures that volunteering experiences are impactful both for participants and for the communities they serve.

Being recognised by SALTO European Solidarity Corps is an important milestone for YEAH and confirms the value of our work in promoting solidarity, active citizenship, and international cooperation. It also reflects the dedication of all volunteers, partners, youth workers, and community members who have contributed to our activities over the years.

We would like to thank SALTO European Solidarity Corps for highlighting YEAH’s work and for continuing to promote high-quality volunteering opportunities across Europe. We remain committed to creating meaningful experiences that empower young people, strengthen communities, and contribute to a more inclusive and connected Europe.
